OUR 26th SEASON After a record-breaking 25th Anniversary "Season of Celebrations," Early Music Now begins its next 25 years with another stellar lineup of performers, programs, and venues. With the mission of creating lively connections with the past through historically informed presentations of music composed before 1800, EMN brings its audiences the beauty and adventure of musical journeys "Across Borders − Across Time." These six world-class ensembles offer a variety of vocal and instrumental combinations, providing virtuoso performances of music from across the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. Three long-time favorite ensembles share the schedule with three groups of rapidly rising young artists new to the Milwaukee series (including two from Canada), along with the much-anticipated inclusion of members of our own Milwaukee Choral Artists. With a generous representation of early Spanish and Latin American music, the series also explores music of the French Baroque, Italian solo cantatas, and a feast of Slavic music − in the perfect local venue: the Basilica of Saint Josaphat. A favorite Medieval Christmas program in the glorious St. Joseph Center Chapel rounds out the season.
